Solan, Jan. 21 -- In a move to deepen patriotic consciousness among students, the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government has decided to redesign the middle school history curriculum with a sharper focus on India's freedom movement and the contributions of freedom fighters.
From the 2027-28 academic session, students of Classes VI to VIII will study national history alongside Himachal Pradesh's cultural heritage, ancient temples, forts, and landmark movements such as the Prajamandal movement (against feudalism) and 1942 Pajouta uprising of peasants.
