Shimla, Nov. 7 -- Eyeing to achieve the goal of becoming a Green Energy State by next year, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) to fast-track the execution of hydro, solar and green energy projects to strengthen the state's power infrastructure.

Chairing a review meeting of HPPCL in Shimla on Thursday, the Chief Minister asked the Corporation to adopt a mission-mode approach for timely completion of projects and to explore new opportunities in renewable energy generation.

He reviewed the 450 MW Shong Tong project and instructed that it be completed by December 2026, noting that more than 60 percent of the work had already been done.
