Shimla, April 7 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alliance Air to operate daily scheduled flights on the New Delhi-Shimla and Shimla-Dharamshala routes, a move aimed at strengthening regional air connectivity and boosting tourism in the hill state.

Director of Tourism and Civil Aviation Vivek Bhatia said the flights would operate seven days a week and are expected to significantly improve accessibility to key tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh.

He said the airline would deploy an ATR 42-600 aircraft with a seating capacity of 48 passengers for the services.
