Shimla, March 29 -- In a significant inter-state collaboration, the Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday signed a government-to-government memorandum of understanding with Telangana for developing the 400 MW Seli and 150 MW Miar hydroelectric projects in Lahaul-Spiti district.
The agreement comes after prolonged legal disputes over the Chenab basin projects.
Power Secretary Rakesh Kanwar represented Himachal Pradesh while Telangana's Principal Secretary (Power) Sandeep Kumar Sultania signed for his state in the presence of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.
The Rs 6,200 crore joint venture is expected to create about 5,000 employment opportunities.
