Shimla, Aug. 17 -- Himachal Pradesh continues to grapple with massive destruction caused by incessant monsoon rains for the past two months. Fresh spells of heavy overnight downpour on August 16 brought Mandi and Kullu districts to a standstill once again, triggering flash floods and landslides that paralyzed normal life.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has reviewed the situation in Mandi, Kullu and Kinnaur districts.
He personally spoke to the Deputy Commissioners of the affected districts, sought detailed reports on the extent of damage, and directed them to send comprehensive assessments to the state government.
