Una (Himachal), Sept. 23 -- The Himachal government is taking initiatives to improve the living standards of sanitation workers. In line with the guidelines of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana has been implemented on a priority.
This scheme, projected as a gesture of respect for sanitation warriors, not only provides financial assistance for housing construction, but also represents an important step toward a dignified life.
Under the scheme, eligible sanitation workers will be provided financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh for the construction of permanent houses, enabling them to move out of unsafe and dilapidated houses.
