Shimla, Aug. 29 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly today passed the 2nd amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, 2017 through a voice vote. The amendment aims to align the State GST provisions with the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, following recommendations from the GST Council, to ensure a uniform tax structure across the country.
In the absence of Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri addressed the House, stating that the bill was introduced by the state government on the directions of the union government and the GST Council.
