Shimla, Oct. 31 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court suo moto has taken cognizance of the criminal cases registered between Palampur-based businessman Nishant Sharma and former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu, directing both the Chief Judicial Magistrates of Shimla and Dharamshala to submit the Special Investigation Team (SIT) reports for judicial scrutiny.
A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Jiya Lal Bhardwaj, while hearing Criminal Writ Petitions, observed that the matter had been referred to the High Court by the Supreme Court through its order dated September 16, 2025, in Sanjay Kundu versus Registrar General, High Court of Himachal Pradesh & others.
