Shimla, May 16 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Thursday pulled up the state government for the undue delay in appointing the chairperson and members of the Himachal Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), despite the completion of the statutory selection process over two months ago.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma was hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by Atul Sharma. The court rejected an affidavit submitted by the under secretary (housing), terming it unsatisfactory, and directed the secretary (personnel) to file a fresh affidavit by May 26, explaining the reasons for the delay.
