Shimla, Aug. 9 -- In a stern message on crimes against law enforcement, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has overturned a Nahan trial court order that granted bail to an accused in a violent mob attack which left a police head constable with a deep head wound and led to the recovery of sharp weapons.
In an order passed by a single bench of Justice Virender Singh on August 7 said that on June 14, this year in Majra, police said an agitated mob not only blocked officers from performing their duties but also assaulted them.
Policeman Sandeep Kumar was struck on the head with a machete, cutting through his cap and leaving a 7x2 cm deep wound - an injury police say could have been fatal.
