Shimla, July 25 -- Himachal Pradesh High Court has granted bail to a cab driver who was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after police recovered 1.511 kilograms of charas from a passenger's bag in his vehicle.
The court observed that there was no prima facie evidence to link the driver to the offence.
A single bench of Justice Rakesh Kainthla, presiding over the case, ruled that the mere fact that the petitioner was driving the vehicle at the time of seizure was not sufficient to implicate him.
The judge noted that the driver's conduct during the police check was consistent with that of someone unaware of any illegal activity.
