Shimla, Jan. 6 -- The High Court of Himachal Pradesh on Monday rejected the bail plea of Gaurav Sharma, a key suspect implicated in a large-scale narcotics trafficking racket operating out of Una district.

Justice Virender Singh upheld the stringent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, citing "suspicious" financial transactions worth Rs 27 lakh and the recovery of a commercial quantity of poppy husk.

The case dates back to July 14, 2024, when the Una Police intercepted a truck (HP72C-4761) near Majara based on secret information.
