Shimla, Jan. 2 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court today deferred further hearing in the matter relating to Gram Panchayat elections to January 6, after hearing detailed arguments from both sides.

The case is being heard by a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Jiya Lal Bhardwaj.

During the hearing, counsels for the petitioners and the State advanced their respective submissions on the legality of the ongoing delimitation and election process for Panchayati Raj Institutions. After considering the arguments, the Bench deferred the matter for further hearing on January 6.
