Shimla, Nov. 19 -- Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday heard the election petition filed against Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, beginning the process of framing issues arising from the pleadings of both sides. The petition has been filed by Layak Ram Negi of Kinnaur, who has challenged the validity of Ranaut's election, alleging wrongful rejection of his nomination papers during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Appearing for the petitioner, Advocate Ajay Chauhan submitted that Negi's nomination was dismissed on flawed and arbitrary grounds, effectively depriving him of his right to contest.
