Shimla, Sept. 23 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday directed the union Government to produce, through a special messenger, the official file relating to the sanction for prosecution of Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, whose six-month service extension is under judicial scrutiny.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma passed the order while hearing connected petitions, including a PIL filed by Atul Sharma challenging Saxena's extension and vigilance clearance.
Appearing through video conferencing, Additional Solicitor General of India S.D. Sanjay informed the bench that the file containing notings on the sanction of prosecution was available and could be produced if required....
