Dharamshala, Dec. 13 -- union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has held the Himachal Pradesh government responsible for delays in the implementation of railway projects in the state, citing slow transfer of land and non-payment of the state's share in project costs.

Replying to a question raised by Rajya Sabha MP Indu Bala Goswami in the Upper House, the Minister said that delays in land transfer and the failure of the state government to provide its financial contribution have adversely affected the progress of railway projects in Himachal Pradesh.

He said the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri railway line requires 124 hectares of land in Himachal Pradesh, but so far only 82 hectares have been transferred to the Railways. Construction work is un...
