Shimla, April 18 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has notified temporary deferment of a portion of salaries of top constitutional functionaries, ministers and legislators for a period of six months in view of the prevailing financial situation.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had earlier during the Budget presentation in the state Assembly announced the salary deferment in wake of the financial crisis.

As per the notification issued on Saturday, by the General Administration Department (Parliamentary Affairs), 50 per cent of the salary of the Chief Minister will be deferred, while 30 per cent of the salaries of the Deputy Chief Minister, Council of Ministers, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha will be ...
