Shimla, Aug. 21 -- The Himachal Pradesh Assembly today witnessed concerns over delays in homestay registrations, with Manali MLA Bhubneshwar Gaur questioning the government on the pending decision regarding changes in the criteria for issuing No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Fire Department.

Raising the issue during the proceedings, Gaur reminded the House that he had flagged the matter three to four months ago, when the government had assured that a committee would review the norms.

"In my constituency, a large number of homestays are awaiting registration and renewal. Entrepreneurs are unable to move forward as their applications remain pending due to the requirement of a Fire Department NOC," he said.
