Shimla, Aug. 10 -- Himachal Pradesh has marked a major step towards eco-friendly governance by expanding its e-Office platform to 325 government offices, a move expected to save thousands of trees and cut establishment costs significantly.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the shift to paperless administration would not only improve efficiency and transparency but also reduce the state's expenditure on stationery, printing, and file storage. "Less paper means more trees saved and faster work," he said.
The e-Office network now covers 20 new secretariat branches, five directorates, all 12 Deputy Commissioners' offices, 13 SP offices, 71 SDM offices, 88 BDO offices, and 127 field offices. Officials said this has streamlined ...
