Shimla, Oct. 10 -- In Himachal Pradesh, people no longer need to travel long distances to avail of postal services; instead, they can now access all services at their doorstep. These include payments through India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and life certificates for pensioners.

This information was provided by Sanjay Singh, Chief Postmaster General of the Himachal Pradesh Circle, while speaking to reporters on the occasion of the closing of the Postal Week organized by the department.

He said that Himachal Pradesh has approximately 2,800 post offices, serving over 200,000 people. There is a post office for every 2,500 people in the state, or within a radius of 20 km.
