Shimla, Feb. 26 -- The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy snowfall, while downstream areas were lashed by intermittent rainfall over the last 24 hours.
The state capital, Shimla, and nearby areas witnessed intermittent rain or snowfall (in higher reaches), intensifying the cold wave in the region.
According to the district administration, continuous snowfall has been reported in Lahaul-Spiti district, disrupting daily life. Heavy hsnowfall has been recorded in residential areas, with Rohtang Pass receiving 75 cm of snow, Koksar 45 cm, Atal Tunnel North Portal 45 cm, South Portal 40 cm, Keylong 30 cm, and Udaipur 25-30 cm. The recent snowfall has caused disruptions in road connectivity and normal activities.
