Shimla, Dec. 27 -- Himachal Congress president Vinay Kumar on Saturday announced that the party will launch a statewide public awareness campaign against the Centre's decision to rename the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and "weakening" its core objective.
He said here on Saturday that the move goes beyond a mere change of name and constitutes a threat to rural livelihoods, workers' rights, and the principles of social justice enshrined in the Constitution.
