Shimla, March 21 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday outlined an ambitious governance and infrastructure roadmap with a strong emphasis on curbing drug abuse, strengthening cyber security, and accelerating digital transformation across Himachal Pradesh.
In a decisive step to tackle the growing menace of "chitta" (synthetic drugs), the Chief Minister announced that the action of the State Drug Cell would be extended to rural areas. The move aims to intensify surveillance and curb the proliferation of narcotics beyond urban pockets. Alongside, a new module on cybersecurity hygiene would be introduced in schools, while smartphones have been banned in educational institutions to mitigate their adverse impact on children.
