Dharamshala, Jan. 1 -- The Kangra Valley Carnival in Himachal Pradesh witnessed a historic and inspiring moment of social awareness when more than 2,500 women came together to deliver a powerful anti-drug message through the region's traditional Jhamaakda dance.
Presented as a mega community dance, the event saw enthusiastic participation of women from various parts of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said the Kangra Carnival has not been confined to entertainment or cultural celebration alone, but has been developed as an effective platform for social reform and public awareness.
He said drug abuse is a serious challenge for society and combating it requires the active participation of all sections, especially women.
