Shimla, Feb. 15 -- Defending the union government against allegations regarding inadequate financial support for medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh, BJP Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap claimed here today that the state government was required to contribute its matching share of Rs 238 crore under the centrally0sponsored scheme for expansion of health infrastructure and procurement of medical equipment.

He stated that as per the funding pattern laid down by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Centre has already released its due share, and the remaining amount is to be borne by the state government.
