Hyderabad, Jan. 6 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday strongly defended the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation (HILT) Policy, calling it essential for improving the city's environment and ensuring sustainable growth.
Speaking during a discussion in the Legislative Assembly, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the policy would help make Hyderabad a more livable and globally competitive city by facilitating the shifting of polluting industries outside the Outer Ring Road. He stressed that the policy is voluntary and challenged opposition parties, including the BRS and BJP, to clearly state whether they want the relocation of polluting industries to be mandatory.
