Nagpur, Oct. 31 -- Normal traffic has resumed on Nagpur's highways after protesters led by former MLA Bacchu Kadu ended their blockade, city police told the Bombay High Court's Nagpur bench on Thursday.
The demonstration, organised by Bacchu Kadu's Prahar Janshakti Party under the banner of the "Maha Elgar Morcha," had brought vehicular movement to a standstill earlier this week. Supporters were demanding a blanket waiver of farmers' loans.
Taking suo motu notice of the disruption, the High Court had ordered Kadu and his followers to vacate the roads and restore traffic. In a compliance report, Police Commissioner Ravinder Singal said the protest had been cleared peacefully and road connectivity restored.
