Srinagar, Feb. 20 -- The higher reaches of Kashmir valley, including the tourist resort of Gulmarg received a fresh snowfall, while plains were lashed by light rains, ending a long dry spell on Thursday, officials said.

The ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir received 7.5 cm of snowfall overnight, the Meteorological Department of Srinagar said.

Reports of fresh light to moderate snowfall were also received from Shopian, Sinthan Top, and the Pir Panjal range of mountains in south Kashmir.

Snowfall was also reported from the Zojila pass on the Srinagar-Ladakh Highway.
