Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 22 -- The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has reported elevated Ultraviolet (UV) index levels across parts of Kerala during the past 24 hours and has urged the public to take strict precautionary measures against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Data collected from 14 UV monitoring stations installed by KSDMA in collaboration with ICFOSS indicate that several locations witnessed high readings, with the highest UV index touching 10 in high-range areas, including Munnar.

Elevated levels were also recorded in places such as Konni, Chengannur, and Changanassery, prompting alerts in these regions.
