Unnao, Sept. 27 -- Four sanitation workers were killed and two others seriously injured in a road accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao district this morning.
The tragic incident occurred between milestones 257 and 258 under the jurisdiction of Behta Mujhawar police station.
Police and eyewitnesses reported that the crash was caused by a speeding car travelling from Agra towards Lucknow. The vehicle suffered a sudden tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control.
The car veered sharply, broke through the central divider, and entered the opposite lane, ramming into six highway maintenance workers. The collision was so forceful that bodies were reportedly thrown up to 100 metres before the car overturned.
