Mumbai, March 6 -- The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition filed by a taxi and auto-rickshaw drivers' union seeking permission to offer namaz near Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport during the month of Ramadan. The court held that security considerations at sensitive locations such as airports must take priority over requests for religious activity.

The matter was heard by a division bench comprising Justices B P Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla on Thursday.
