Shimla, Dec. 20 -- The High Court has taken serious note of large-scale encroachments on major Public Roads and directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to conduct a comprehensive survey and submit detailed status reports, particularly with regard to the Jathia Devi-Rampuri road and roads leading to Shimla Airport.
The directions were passed in a suo motu Public Interest Litigation titled Court on its own motion vs State of Himachal Pradesh and others (CWPIL No. 71 of 2025), recently, which came up before a Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice and Justice.
