Ranchi, Oct. 7 -- Security agencies across Jharkhand have been placed on high alert in view of the Maoists' call for a week-long 'Resistance Week' from October 8 to 14, followed by a shutdown on October 15 across Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal.

According to official sources, intelligence inputs indicate possible attempts by Maoist groups to disrupt peace and target security forces during this period. In response, the Jharkhand Police Headquarters has directed all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to remain on high alert and intensify patrolling and surveillance, particularly in sensitive areas.
