Lucknow, Nov. 19 -- The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 3.110 kilograms of heroin at Lucknow's Charbagh Railway Station after acting on a confidential tip-off today.
The contraband was being transported on the New Jalpaiguri-Delhi Express by two women, who had hidden the packets inside their luggage. Officials estimate the international market value of the seized heroin to be approximately Rs 21.77 crore.
According to DRI officials, the agency received specific intelligence that a major consignment of heroin was being smuggled to Delhi on the train.
