Nemra (Ramgarh), Aug. 8 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today stepped into the paddy fields of his native village Nemra in Ramgarh district, observing ongoing transplantation work and interacting with local farmers.
Calling agriculture the backbone of the economy as well as a symbol of the state's identity, culture and tradition, Soren said, "A prosperous farmer is the foundation of a strong state and nation. The government is fully committed to empowering and making you prosperous."
During the monsoon-season visit, the Chief Minister met women engaged in paddy transplantation and enquired about the current state of farming in the area.
