Ranchi, Sept. 22 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rafia Naz today launched a sharp attack on the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government, accusing it of neglecting children's nutrition and prioritizing image-building and power politics over the basic needs of the state's children.
She alleged that nearly 45% of Jharkhand's children remain malnourished, with every fourth child facing hunger, while the government has failed to take any concrete measures to address the crisis.
Citing the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), Naz said that 42.9% of children in the state are underweight, 39.6% are stunted, and 29.5% suffer from wasting and malnutrition figures far worse than the national average.
