New York, Aug. 29 -- The ongoing cast shakeup at Saturday Night Live has escalated into an earthquake with Heidi Gardner, after eight seasons, becoming the latest performer to depart.

Gardner is the fourth SNL cast member to leave the show in the past three days, following Devon Walker, Emil Wakim and Michael Longfellow. She had been the longest-tenured female member of the show's current cast, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Gardner, who entered SNL in 2017 as a featured player before being elevated to repertory status two years later, became known for her dual mastery of restraint and absurdity.
