Kangra, Aug. 6 -- Kangra valley was lashed by heavy rains, accompanied by high velocity winds, this afternoon putting life out of gear. The rains resulted in pushing rivers into spate. The roads were flooded and normal life was disrupted.

There was a massive landslide on the Kangra Shimla National Highway near Bathu Bridge, which left one side of the four-lane NH blocked. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials pressed dozers and JCBs into service to clear the massive mud landslide.

Meanwhile, traffic was restored on the Pathankot Mandi National Highway today after a massive landslide blocked the NH near Bhali last evening.
