Bilaspur (HP), Sept. 19 -- Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani today stated that heavy rains have caused an estimated damage of Rs 186 crore in Bilaspur district.

Reviewing the damage, particularly in the Ghumarwin area, the minister noted that various departments have been significantly impacted. The Public Works Department suffered losses of around Rs 123 crore, the Water Power Department Rs 42 crore, and the Electricity Board Rs 79 lakh.

A total of 25 Public Works Department roads were blocked, most of which have since been restored. Officials have been instructed to work expeditiously to restore the remaining roads. Similarly, out of 1,019 Jal Shakti Department projects affected by the rains, only 42 projects...
