Thiruvananthapuram, July 19 -- A Red Alert for heavy rainfall has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in five districts of Kerala today.

Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod were in the Red Alert category.

An orange alert has been issued for the districts of Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, and Palakkad.

On July 20, a red alert has been declared in Kannur and Kasaragod. An orange alert is in place for the districts of Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad. UNI DS GNK
