Kolhapur, Aug. 18 -- A massive landslide occurred in the Amba Ghat section following five days of incessant rainfall in the region today, disrupting vehicular traffic on the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri highway.
According to Highway Traffic Police, the landslide occurred this afternoon, blocking the highway and bringing all vehicular traffic to a standstill on both sides.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has deployed a team to clear the road of mud and big stones, but the operation is being hampered by continuous heavy rainfall in the ghat section.
