Pune, Aug. 25 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of continued heavy rainfall across several states, including Maharashtra, until August 29.

A total of 11 states have been advised to remain on high alert.

In Maharashtra, heavy showers are expected in the Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions. Districts like Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg in the Konkan belt, as well as Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nashik in North Maharashtra, are likely to experience intense rainfall. Marathwada districts, including Parbhani, Hingoli, Latur, and Nanded, may also see thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain.
