Imphal, July 29 -- Heavy rainfall lashed the state, affecting normal lives.
Hundreds of families were affected as their houses were inundated by water specially in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Senapati, Bishnupur, Kakching districts.
According to a state official, about 24 to 26 mm rainfall was recorded in the state. All the rivers were flowing at normal levels.
According to a resident of Wangkhei the problems were largely due to the absence of a proper drainage system, which has resulted in waterlogging. The water has to be drained out using pumps, he added.
Some roads were also under water; hence, traffic was diverted.
