Amaravati, Sept. 18 -- The north-south trough from south interior Karnataka to the Comorin area across Tamil Nadu at 0.9 km above mean sea level persisted today, the Meteorological Centre said.

In its daily weather report, the Centre stated that another trough is running from the central parts of Madhya Pradesh to the west-central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, passing through east Vidarbha, Telangana, and south Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The Southwest Monsoon has been reported as normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and active over Rayalaseema.

The Met office forecast heavy rain at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.
