Amaravati, Aug. 3 -- The upper air cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal off North Tamil Nadu coast persisted today, lying between 1.5 km and 4.5 km above mean sea level, the Meteorological Centre said.

In its daily weather report, the centre predicted that heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next five days.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are also expected at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during this period.
