Amaravati, Sept. 22 -- A low-pressure area over the northeast Bay of Bengal and its surrounding regions, along with an associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, persisted over the same area at 0830 hours on Monday, the Meteorological Centre said.
It is likely to move during the next 24 hours towards the northwest Bay of Bengal.
The Met office said a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over east-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around September 25.
