Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 7 -- Heavy rainfall ranging from 7 cm to 11 cm in 24 hours is very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala on January 10, 2026, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said here on Wednesday.
A yellow warning has been issued for Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts for the day. According to the IMD, the weather condition is linked to a depression that formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean at 0830 hrs IST on January 7.
The depression was centred near latitude 4.8 degrees North and longitude 88.2 degrees East. It was located about 740 km east-southeast of Pottuvil, 790 km east-southeast of Batticaloa and 880 km east-southeast of Trincomalee in Sri Lanka. It wa...
