Hamirpur (HP), July 29 -- Heavy rains that struck most parts of Hamirpur district after midnight on Monday and on Tuesday have caused considerable damage to public and private property.



According to information received at the District Emergency Operation Center (DEOC) till this afternoon, the loss is estimated at more than Rs 2.14 crore across the district during the last 24 hours.

Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority Chairman Amarjit Singh said that the loss of government and private property in Hamirpur district has increased to Rs 103.59 crore during the monsoon season.
