Chennai, March 6 -- Dog days are ahead as people of Tamil Nadu are bracing
up for intense heat wave conditions ahead of the peak summer season, as the
mercury level spiked by a couple of notches, with eight places recording
temperatures above 100 Deg F, on Thursday.
Met office sources said the North Interior Tirupattur district, which recorded the
100 Deg F mark for the first time this season two days back, continued to reel
under searing heat recording the day's highest of 102.5 deg F today.
Other areas which recorded 100 Deg F mark included Karur Paramthi, Erode,
Salem, Madurai Airport, Tiruchirapalli Airport and Vellore.
