Thiruvananthapuram, June 23 -- Former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has been hospitalised following a heart attack on Monday morning.
He is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit at Pattom SUT Hospital. His health condition is satisfactory, sources said.
Due to health issues, V.S. Achuthanandan has been on complete rest at the residence of his son, Arun Kumar, at Barton Hill here.
He served as the Chief Minister of Kerala from 2006 to 2011. He was also the Leader of the Opposition during the periods 1992-1996, 2001-2006, and 2011-2016. He is one of the founding leaders of the CPI(M) and currently the senior most living leader of the Communist Party in India.
